Anime Defense becoming Animaine Foundation

JULY 1, 2014 – BANGOR, MAINE – Anime Defense Project Inc., the non-profit organization created in 2010 to support the anime industry and community in North America, announced today that it is changing its name to Animaine Foundation.

“ANIMAINE is by far our largest and most visible program,” said Chris Perry, who was elected president on June 20. “And as we continue to grow here in New England, it makes sense to focus our brand on the show.”

Since 2012, the organization has been expanding into arts education and literary programs. Animaine announced support for the Waterville Public Library’s Cirque du Geek event in 2014, and unveiled a summer camp program which will begin in 2015.

Animaine will continue to operate in Vermont under the Anime Defense name. The organization hopes to complete its Maine incorporation by August.
